Fishsong/Wormsong is a sound installation that explores the hidden acoustic ecologies of the Massachusetts Avenue Project’s innovative and sustainable aquaponics system. Sounds were recorded through a brief residency at MAP’s farm on Buffalo’s Westside. Most sounds were recorded with a hydrophone and portable field recorder, and, as indicated, are primarily the sounds of the aquaponics and vermiculture (worm composting) systems in place at MAP. The two audio pieces that made up the installation are available for streaming and download below. For best results, please use headphones.
